I create one-of-a-kind custom pebble art family portraits using naturally shaped stones, sea glass, driftwood, fossils and other meaningful materials to capture the people—and the relationships—that make your family yours.

It starts with getting to know you.

Before I start searching for stones, I want to understand your family.

Who belongs in the picture?

What are they like?

Are there children, grandparents, pets or other family members who need to be included?

Is there a special place that means something to you?

A cottage? A beach? A home? Somewhere you travelled together?

Sometimes even the way people stand beside one another matters.

Do Mom and Dad naturally belong together? Should Grandma be beside the grandchildren? Does the family dog need to be right in the middle of everything?

Those details are what turn a collection of stones into your family.

Your photographs are my reference—not my template.

I'll ask you for photographs so I can understand everyone's appearance, including hairstyles, height, body shape, clothing and other details.

But I'm not simply copying a photograph.

I'm interpreting your family through the shapes, colours and character of the stones I find.

And your photographs are for my reference only. They are never shared or posted without your permission.

Then I go stone hunting.

And I mean stone hunting.

I may sort through thousands of stones looking for the right shapes—not just the right colours.

A stone has to be the right size, shape and proportion, and it has to work with all the stones around it.

I don't reshape the stones to make them fit.

I find the stone that already has what I need.

Living beside Lake Huron certainly helps. I have an endless supply of excuses to walk the beach—and somehow I always seem to come home with a few more stones.

Trust me, I've brought a LOT of them home. 😂

Materials can make the story even more personal.

Depending on your family and your budget, we can incorporate materials that have meaning to you.

That might include:

• Lake Huron stones
• sea glass or beach glass
• sea pottery
• driftwood
• fossils
• coral
• unusual or rare stones
• fluorescent stones and UV elements

Perhaps there's a place that is important to your family. I have stones and materials from different parts of the world, so sometimes I can incorporate something that connects the artwork to a meaningful location or memory.

Your budget doesn't determine the quality of the artwork.

I put the same care into every piece.

Your budget simply helps me determine the size, level of detail and materials that are possible.

And sometimes the words complete the piece.

If there's a quote, saying, scripture or special phrase that means something to your family, we can incorporate it.

And if you know what you want the piece to say but can't quite find the right words, I'll help you find them.

Because sometimes the right words can bring people to tears—in the best possible way.

Nature shapes the art. You shape the message.

Custom artwork starts at $225.

Every family is different, so the final price depends on the size, number of people or animals, level of detail and materials we choose together.

Whether you're creating a small, simple family portrait or something larger with lots of special details, the care and craftsmanship remain the same.

You get to be part of the process.

Once I begin creating your piece, I'll keep you updated along the way.

I'll show you progress, ask for your feedback and make sure I'm capturing the vision we talked about.

And here's something a little different:

No deposit is required.

And there is no obligation to purchase the finished artwork if it doesn't capture your vision.

I'm asking you to trust me with something personal.

You should be able to see the finished piece and know that I've captured what you were hoping for.
