This beautiful piece celebrates the precious value of a devoted wife and the quiet beauty of a lifelong partnership. At the heart of the artwork, a couple sits together on a piece of naturally weathered driftwood, their hands gently meeting in a moment of affection and connection.
Her figure is created from stones and treasures gathered from different shores. Her skirt is an oyster shell from Argentina, while her top is made from Petoskey stone—a fossilized coral found in the Great Lakes. The natural patterns, textures, and colours of each piece have been left untouched, allowing the stones themselves to tell part of the story.
The sentiment is beautifully reflected in Proverbs 31:10:
“Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far greater than that of corals.”
And beneath the artwork, 1 Samuel 20:23 adds another layer to the meaning:
“As for the promise that we have made, you and I, may Jehovah be between us forever.”
Together, these words make this more than a picture of a couple. It is a celebration of love, loyalty, friendship, and the priceless value of a faithful wife.
